Here is your invitation to our
August
Bank Holiday 2008
Recharge your batteries over the August Bank Holiday
Weekend on our Retreat themed this year as "Taking time for
yourself" You arrive on the evening of Friday 23rd August for 3 days of contemplation,
country and seaside walks, good food, relaxation and celebration of the
late summer Bank Holiday here in the SE corner of Anglesey.
The
Retreat Weekend starts from 4pm Friday Evening and ends 4pm Monday. Our
August Bank Holiday Retreat is a balance of fun and quiet reflective time.
The programme is flexible and the activities optional. On offer, will be
meditation, healing sessions, a tour of the some
of the islands rich Celtic heritage of Sacred Sites, including holy wells
and burial sites, walks on the beach or in the mountains. There will also
be plenty of time to relax in the garden, swim in the sea, and browse the
library of books and tapes here at the centre. If the time permits we could
light a fire on the beach.
The
walking here provides ample choice in itself with wonderful vistas offered
by beach walks or slightly more strenuous walks in the majestic mountains
of Snowdonia.
Our delicious food can be mainly or totally vegetarian, some from our own
garden, our bacon butties seem to be a popular
option.
Your host and facilitator for the event
is Vivien Candlish, a Reiki Master of Usui Shiki Rhoyo
and teacher of "A Course in Miracles®" Vivien has been organising
and facilitating workshops since 1984. Her warmth and understated
spirituality create a unique atmosphere on these weekends, which is very
conducive to relaxation and renewal.
Warmed
by the Gulf Stream and sheltered by the Mountains of Snowdonia this part of
Anglesey is noted for its mild weather, and the centre is in a rural location
on a peninsula only 10 minutes walk from
the Sea shores which offer unparalleled views of the Snowdonia Mountains
and the North Wales Coast from Bangor in the West to the Great Orme and Llandudno to the East. Close by is the
historic town of Beaumaris with its moated Castle, Georgian buildings and Victorian Goal
and along the coast is the Priory at Penmon, with the well of St Seiriol and a short walk to the light house and the
Channel overlooking
Puffin Island. To the North are the large
open sands of Red
Wharf Bay,
so you will be spoilt for choice in the opportunities for leisurely and
rewarding walks.
The Centre itself is a warm modern family
house, with an open fire, and an extensive library of books and tapes
surrounded by garden and fields where the dusk is broken by patrolling owls
hooting to mark out their territory and you are woken by the dawn chorus.
Bird life is busy here in late summer as they feed in the thick hedgerows
that surround the mainly pastoral fields, and the harvest is almost in. If
the mountains beckon the majesty of Snowdonia is only 30 minutes drive into
the very heart of those ancient hills.
Accommodation
Accommodation is in single and double
rooms with two shared bathrooms.
The cost is £195 which is fully inclusive.
Booking
Please
send a deposit of £100 with
your booking confirmation payable to Vivien Candlish. This
is, unfortunately, non refundable but it can be transferred to other
weekend or Course run by the Centre.
All of our events are designed for small friendly groups, as a consequence places are strictly limited so
it is wise to book early to avoid disappointment.
